Cannabis Laws in Oregon

Is weed legal in Oregon? Yes — recreational and medical cannabis are both legal here for adults 21+.

Oregon legalized adult-use cannabis by ballot in 2014, and licensed retail stores are open to adults 21+. Adults may carry up to one ounce in public, keep up to eight ounces at home, and grow up to four plants per household out of public view. The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission regulates the licensed market.

Federally, cannabis is still a controlled substance nationwide — but that status is in flux. See where rescheduling stands →
