Privacy Policy
Last updated June 19, 2026
Kush is a cannabis news, culture, and jobs platform for adults 21 and older. We keep the data we collect deliberately minimal, and this policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
This site is operated by Kush Media, Inc. (“Kush,” “we,” “us”). You can reach us about privacy at privacy@kush.co. Kush is intended only for adults 21 years of age or older.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter or job alerts.
- Name, email, and ZIP code — when you apply to a job through our board (so we can match you to relevant roles near you).
- Job-alert preferences — the state and role categories you choose.
- Employer / advertiser details — if you submit a job posting or an advertising inquiry (e.g., name, email, company, and the message you send us).
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — pages you view, searches you run on the site, links and buttons you click (such as “apply,” ad, and affiliate clicks), how far you scroll and roughly how long you stay, the site that referred you and any campaign (UTM) parameters, your approximate location (country/region inferred from your network — not precise GPS), and basic device and browser type.
- A random visitor identifier stored in your browser, which we use to measure unique visits, understand how the site is used, and improve performance. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Session analytics. Where required, only with your consent, third-party tools may record analytics about your visit — including, in the case of Microsoft Clarity, anonymized session replays and heatmaps of how pages are used.
- IP address. We use your IP address to infer approximate location, prevent spam and abuse, and secure the site. We generally use it transiently, though limited security logs (for example, records of administrative actions) may retain it.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6.
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, dates of birth, or precise geolocation, and we do not store your full payment-card details — card payments (for example, featured job listings) are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and Kush never sees or stores your card number.
3. How we use information
- To send the newsletters and job alerts you request, and to match you with relevant jobs.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the site, including analytics and spam prevention.
- To respond to advertiser and employer inquiries and to process job postings.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your information for money. We share it only as described here:
- With employers and recruiters. If you apply to a job or otherwise provide candidate details, your name, email, ZIP code, and the role(s) you express interest in may be made available to the employer, recruiter, or hiring partner for that role and to employers who use our candidate / resume-access service. If you do not want your details shared with employers, do not submit them through the apply form, or contact us to opt out (Section 7).
- With service providers that run the platform on our behalf — for example hosting and database (Vercel, Neon), email delivery (e.g., Beehiiv), analytics and session tools (e.g., Microsoft Clarity, Vercel Analytics, and Google Analytics), and payments (Stripe). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
- With advertising and affiliate partners in connection with ads or sponsored content (see our Terms for disclosure practices).
- For legal and safety reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Kush, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer — if Kush is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Some of the sharing above — for example providing candidate information to employers, or sharing limited data with advertising partners — may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain U.S. state laws. See Section 7 for how to opt out.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. In general, we keep newsletter and candidate information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, after which we remove or de-identify it within a reasonable period; analytics is kept in aggregated or de-identified form. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (Section 7), and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies: those that are essential for the site to work, a browser-stored visitor identifier, and analytics. Non-essential analytics and session tools (such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) load only after you consent via our cookie banner, where required; these may set their own cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control browser signals — to exercise your choices, please contact us as described in Section 7.
7. Your choices and rights
- Email. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any newsletter or alert.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Email privacy@kush.co to request a copy of your information, correct it, or have it deleted.
- Do Not Sell or Share / opt out. To opt out of having your personal information shared with employers, advertising partners, or otherwise “sold” or “shared” as those terms are defined under California (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws, email privacy@kush.co with “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject line.
- California, and other U.S. state, residents may have additional rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We will verify and honor valid requests as required by law.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Kush is intended only for adults 21 and older. It is not directed to anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-party sites
Our jobs board links to employers’ own application pages and our content may link to other sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
