Cannabis Laws in Oklahoma
Is weed legal in Oklahoma? Medical only — cannabis is legal for registered medical patients, but not for general adult use.
Oklahoma runs one of the largest and most accessible medical cannabis programs in the country, legal since 2018, with no statutory list of qualifying conditions and widespread dispensary access. Cardholding patients can carry up to 3 ounces in public, keep 8 ounces at home, and grow up to six mature plants. Adult-use legalization (State Question 820) was rejected by voters in March 2023.
Federally, cannabis is still a controlled substance nationwide — but that status is in flux. See where rescheduling stands →
