Cannabis Laws in Arkansas

Is weed legal in Arkansas? Medical only — cannabis is legal for registered medical patients, but not for general adult use.

Arkansas legalized medical cannabis via a 2016 constitutional amendment, with dispensary sales beginning in 2019 and a mature market of roughly 40 dispensaries today. Registered patients can purchase up to 2.5 ounces every 14 days. There is no adult-use program and home cultivation is not permitted.

Federally, cannabis is still a controlled substance nationwide — but that status is in flux. See where rescheduling stands →
