Cannabis Laws in Mississippi
Is weed legal in Mississippi? Medical only — cannabis is legal for registered medical patients, but not for general adult use.
Mississippi legalized medical cannabis in 2022 and the program is fully operational, with licensed dispensaries open statewide for registered patients. Purchases are capped using Medical Cannabis Equivalency Units (one unit equals 3.5 grams of flower), limiting patients to roughly 3.5 ounces at a time. Home cultivation is not allowed and there is no adult-use program.
Federally, cannabis is still a controlled substance nationwide — but that status is in flux. See where rescheduling stands →
