Cannabis Laws in New Hampshire

Is weed legal in New Hampshire? Medical only — cannabis is legal for registered medical patients, but not for general adult use.

New Hampshire allows cannabis only through its medical (Therapeutic Cannabis) program; adult-use recreational cannabis remains illegal, though small-amount possession is decriminalized. Registered patients may obtain cannabis from licensed Alternative Treatment Centers but cannot grow their own. Recreational legalization bills have repeatedly stalled in the legislature.

Federally, cannabis is still a controlled substance nationwide — but that status is in flux. See where rescheduling stands →
