Cannabis Laws in Georgia
Is weed legal in Georgia? Largely no — this state has only a limited or CBD-restricted program, or no legal cannabis market.
Georgia permits only a limited low-THC medical program: registered patients may purchase low-THC products from licensed dispensaries, with the patient registry run by the Department of Public Health. Legislation in 2026 expanded the program by replacing the prior 5% THC cap with a cumulative THC limit and allowing additional product forms. There is no adult-use market and no home cultivation.
Federally, cannabis is still a controlled substance nationwide — but that status is in flux. See where rescheduling stands →
