What is Trichomes?
Trichomes are the tiny, frosty, resin-producing glands on cannabis flowers that contain most of the plant’s cannabinoids and terpenes.
Trichomes appear as crystalline, mushroom-shaped hairs that coat mature buds and give quality flower its frosted look. They are where the plant synthesizes and stores THCA, CBDA, terpenes, and other compounds, which is why concentrates aim to collect them. Growers often inspect trichome color through a magnifier to judge ripeness and decide when to harvest.
