Cannabinoids
What is THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid)?
THCA is the raw, non-intoxicating acid form of THC found in living and freshly harvested cannabis before it is heated.
THCA is the dominant cannabinoid in raw cannabis flower and does not cause a "high" until it is converted to THC through decarboxylation by heat, such as smoking, vaping, or baking. Because raw flower is rich in THCA rather than active THC, lab labels often report both figures. THCA has also become commercially significant in products sold under hemp regulations.
